The first phase of a massive archival project was made public this Thursday. The New York Times discusses details of the project and materials (Bernstein years) The archive is accessible at http://archives.nyphil.org/
The Music Treasures Consortium provides online access to the world's most valued music manuscripts and print materials, held at the most renowned music archives, in order to further research and scholarship.
Researchers can search or browse materials, access metadata about each item, and view digital images of the treasure via each custodial archive's Web site. The consortial collection will grow as members add more materials.
The Internet Music Score Library Project has been a highly successful website of free online scores. The New York Times talks to its founder, a 24 year-old Harvard student, Edward W. Guo.

Richard Warren, Yale's curator of Historical Sound Recordings and American Musical Theatre Collection will be one of six 45-year honorees that the University will celebrate on March 31st, 2011 at the Long-Service Recognition Dinner. The other honorees are: Margit Kaye, Map Collections, Sterling Memorial; Chip Long, now retired, Provost's Office; Paul Lukasiewicz, Mathematics Library; Joseph Maynard, recently retired, Yale Printing and Publishing Services; and Lorraine Siggins, Yale Health.
