Cat/Auth Location group

October 10, 2001

We had an spontaneous, informal, quick meeting yesterday (10 October) at the "Time Management for Supervisors" workshop (putting theory into practice on the spot). Members present: Marsha Garman, Manon Theroux, Rick Sarcia, Patricia Thurston (Absent Ken Crilly and Joan Swanekamp as they were not signed up for the workshop). We discussed the following:

The Circulation Work Group has all of their meetings in SCML so they can all access Voyager during the meetings. The calendar looks full, but we could probably get the room about every other Thursday. We don't always have demonstrations, but when we do, we all have to crowd around and squint. Let me know what you think. We could plan ahead and try to schedule the room when necessary.

The following topics were in our "Important/Urgent" quadrant (Q1)

MARC tag tables

Security profiling

Learning basic Voyager functions

The following topics were in our "Important/Not urgent" quadrant (Q2)

Consulting with other groups and people

Communicating our report, minutes, ideas

Learning as many details as possible about the way Voyager works.

Rick has discovered that we can create a composite validation table. Some details can be found at the Cornell website.
