Set mapping

 

·         Options; Preferences; Mapping

·         LC: MARC 21

 

·         Options; Preferences; Mapping

·         OCLC: OCLC

·         RLIN: RLIN

Get record to import

·         Connect to LCDB

·         Search

·         Remote

·         Highlight LCDB

·         Add

·         Connect

·         Search for record

·         Close windows for all records except record(s) to import; do not close or save

·         Exit LCDB and return to Orbis2

·         Search

·         Remote

·         Delete (or Clear)

·         Connect

·         Open file of records on PC

·         Record>Import from new file

·         Select import folder

·         OCLC: Oclcimp

·         RLIN: Rlinimp

·         Open folder

·         Select file

·         Open file

·         Select record from file

 

Get Orbis2 record to be overlaid

·         Search for record

·         Open desired record

View imported and Orbis2 record together on screen

·         Menu

·         Window

·         Tile

Create duplicate records with control number

·         Imported record: copy 010 (right mouse button)

·         Orbis2 record: paste copied field at top (right mouse button)

·         Imported record: copy 035 of the OCLC or RLIN record (right mouse button)

·         Orbis2 record: paste copied field at top (right mouse button)

Save Orbis2 record

·         Make active record

·         Save to DB

·         MARC and authority validation

·         Successful update

Save imported record

·         Make active record

·         Save to DB

·         MARC and authority validation

·         Bibliographic dedupe detection

·         If more than one record, select record that matches bib id of target

·         Replace/merge using profile

·         Successful merge
