Exercise Four: Keeping Track of URLs.

Netscape has a feature called bookmarks which allows you to create a list of your favorite sites. From the Bookmarks menu, choose Add Bookmark. A hot link to that site has been added to the Bookmarks menu.

After you have been surfing the web for a while, and creating a whole slew of Bookmarks, you may want to arrange them into a more useful order. Netscape allows to you rearrange your bookmarks and create headers quite easily.

From the Window menu, choose Bookmarks

Using your mouse, drag a selected item up and down through the list of Bookmarks.

Choose Insert Folder from the Item Menu to create a subdirectory of Bookmarks. Drag bookmarks into this new folder. You will now see a nested menu when you look at your list of Bookmarks.

Choose Insert Separator from the Item Menu to put a visual break in the list of bookmarks.
If you are using Netscape version 1.2 or older, here are directions for creating and organizing bookmarks.
