Construction
continues inside and out of Cross Campus Library
This
is the area where the new entrance pavilion will be built.
The roof surface is first dried before the
membrane is applied.

The
sturdy membrane is installed on the Cross Campus
Library roof.

Heavy
equipment breaks the concrete near the old
stairs to Cross Campus Library at the end of the tunnel
to Sterling Memorial Library and this created noise
heard in the Sterling Memorial Library basement.

Looking
into the tunnel toward Sterling Memorial
Library from the Cross Campus Library.

Lots
of materials are on site in the Cross Campus Library.

The
new group study rooms along the side walls are taking shape.

A
mock-up of the glass and metal frame that will
be used throughout the Cross Campus Library
is installed next to a brick pillar for review.

A
vaulted ceiling is beginning to take shape.

A
wooden template is used to form the ceiling vault.

In
another section, arches have been added between
pillars.

Old
pillars have attractive brick facings, topped by a
detailed cornice.

A
New staircase will be built between these pillars.

This
is a mock-up of an external vent.

The
orange membrane is carefully tucked-in over
the edges of the roof.

Jersey
Barriers have been placed along High Street to
delineate the path required for construction traffic.
Soon a fence will be mounted atop these barriers.

A
new wider path is being built for pedestrian traffic
during construction next to these barriers.
