Phase 2 Renovations

The Sterling Memorial Library stairwell and interior spaces
continue to unfold

The stairwell between the Sterling Memorial Library nave
and basement levels has risen to this point where steel
rails will support a skylight that will top off the space.

The elevator shaft is also being defined by
block construction.

The public area of the Sterling Memorial Library basement
is looking better each day as more oak millwork is installed
and the ceiling details are added. The wide opening to one
of the three group study rooms will have new doors added.
New carpet and stone shoe molding will complete the finish
of this future public reading area.

The project managers, dressed in appropriate safety
attire, walk down the brick-lined tunnel from the Sterling
Memorial Library to the Cross Campus Library.

Within the Cross Campus Library, natural light shines
through the elegant glass and steel walls that redefine
one of the two courtyards.

The details of the steel window mullions remind
viewers of the window treatment in the Sterling
Memorial Library.

Wall studs have defined the location for the Cross Campus
Library reserve collection and Access Services staff work
room behind it.
