Removal of Nave Card Catalog Cabinets
(July 19-20, 2006)

Staff from Traffic, Receiving & Stores arrive to remove
the remaining free-standing card catalog cabinets from
the Nave. All Name-Title cards in these cabinets have
been processed and relocated elsewhere.

Moving the cabinets out to High Sreet

Where they were loaded onto a truck for transport to
the Traffic
Receiving & Stores sale

Removing the cabinets leaves a more open
expanse in the
Nave.

Removing cabinets from side aisle, restores the
proportion of the
space occupied by the original built-
in card catalog cabinets

One can now look into this side aisle area from the
Circulation
Desk.

"This is how it looked when I first started working
here," recalled a 30+ year library employee.
