The most important general modern history. This new edition was published without bibliographies. Volume 14 is a modern history atlas. This set is a successor to Cambridge modern history (1902-1924) which contains bibliographies which have not been completely superseded by Roach (see below) and which should be consulted. The earlier edition also contains 13 lists of royalty, parliaments, elected sovereigns, Popes, etc.
