An international interdisciplinary index to the literature of the arts and humanities, indexing the contents of about 6,100 journals, covering about 1,000 fully and about 5,100 selectively. It is an excellent source for locating book reviews published across the broad range of humanities literature. Locate reviews by searching for the author and title as a cited reference cr:meeks origins, then limiting the result to book reviews. The database covers 1978 to the present, and the print volumes go back to 1975.

Wilson Company, Book Review Digest cites and provides excerpts of reviews of current fiction and nonfiction books that have been published in the English language (including translations of works into English). An abstract of the book is also provided. Approximately 100 popular, general interest, and scholarly periodicals published in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain are covered. Book Review Digest online covers the years 1983 to the present and the database is updated monthly. The printed volumes begin in 1905.

The online version is updated continually, while the CD-ROM and print versions are updated twice yearly.

Excellent source for book reviews, especially for older material. The trick is to enter both the author's last name and one or two keywords from the title in the Article Title Keyword field using the NEAR operator. (The Author field reflects the author of the REVIEW, not of the book, and the author's name may appear before or after the title of the work in the article title statement.) Searching for reviews of J-B Duroselle's book, La Decadence, translates into the search "duroselle near decadence", for instance. Then limit the search to Book Reviews Only, and to a time period, too, if necessary. Since the Author field reflects the author of the review, you can also search for reviews by specific reviewers.
