GENERAL

Dahlmann, Friedrich Christoph. Dahlmann-Waitz, Quellenkunde der deutschen Geschichte: Bibliographie der Quellen und der Literatur zur deutschen Geschichte. 10th edition. Stuttgart: A. Hiersemann, 1985- .
Reference Z2236 +D34 1965 Index (LC)
The standard retrospective bibliography for German history. Coverage in this 10th edition has been extended to 1945, listing works published through 1960. Includes virtually all German works of any importance (lesser ones are in small print). This edition (to be in 8 volumes) will include a greater number of non-German writings, but since numerous citations from the 9th edition [Reference Z2236 D34 1931(LC)] are being dropped, the latter should be used in conjunction with it. The work as a whole is arranged in three sections: classified general section; aspects of German history arranged geographically; and chronologically arranged bibliography. No index as yet, but each volume has extremely detailed Table of Contents, and Vol. 1 has Table of Contents for the entire work.
