    The PsycINFO database covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas. PsycINFO's coverage is worldwide, and includes references and abstracts to articles in over 1300 journals in more than 20 languages, and to book chapters and books in the English language. Over 50,000 references are added annually. Popular literature is excluded. Historic PsycINFO (1887-1966) consists of citations and abstracts from three sources: Psychological Abstracts (1927-1966), Psychological Bulletin (1921-1926), and all journals published by the American Psychological Association plus the American Journal of Psychology from the first issue. This takes the file back to 1887. There are links from PsycINFO to all articles provided online full-text through OVID.
