Media Policies and Processes for the Frontlog(Revised 09 Feb 2005)
Selectors place materials on labeled crates and metal book trucks in the "frontlog area" in Review Plaza. A Monograph Support staff member picks up materials from the Review Plaza.Cataloging Module:
Circulation Module:
Repeat the process from the Cataloging Module to the Circulation Module. Finally, after the step are completed materials are delivered and shelved
in a locked caged area for Access Services, Acquisitions and the Cataloging
Department to access. FACTS:CD-ROMs and DVDs going to the frontlog will have the last nine numbers of the assigned barcode numbers on their hub. Media material will be in plastic cases but not security shells for their duration within the frontlog. Any material accompanying a media item, such as user guides, brochures, ads or catalogs, will stay with the media material. If for any reason (such as artifactual value) the selectors wish to keep accompanying material with the media item, he/she must attach a note to that effect for Cataloging, Preparations and Collection Care.
