Tobin is responsible for selecting research materials on the history, analysis and theory of film, theater, dance, media, journalism, cyberculture and related fields, and for philosophy. He also acquires the DVDs and graphic novels at Bass Library, and videos of theater and dance performances at Sterling Memorial Library. He has an Interdisciplinary PhD in Theatre and Drama from Northwestern University, and he has published on theater history and on social and cultural theory.
