Statistical Masterfile combines, on CD-ROM, the references of three published indexes. American Statistical Index (ASI) contains references to all publications produced by the U.S. federal government containing statistics. Statistical Reference Index (SRI) contains references to non-governmental statistical sources, such as publications from research foundations, and non-profit organizations. The Index to International Statistics (IIS) contains references to statistical publications produced by international inter-governmental agencies, most notably the United Nations, European Communities, and the Food and Agriculture Organization. Publications from other agencies, such as the World Bank, OECD, and IMF are also indexed, but the actual publications are housed in other Yale Libraries. However, a complete collection of the publications indexed in the IIS from 1991 to the present is available in microfiche at the Government Documents Center. The years covered for each are 1973 to present for the ASI, 1980 to present for the SRI, and 1983 to present for the IIS. The database contains a bibliographic citation, as well as an abstract for each publication. It can be searched by subject, agency, title, and a variety of other access points. The CD-ROM is updated quarterly.
