New release on November 17 requires installation of new plug-in for structure search!
Thieme Chemistry has launched a new version of Science of Synthesis on November 17, 2003. IPs should automatically detect this new version, and no further action is required in terms of web browser settings. The new version is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.5 and above.
Please note that there are now three structure-searching options for Science of Synthesis. These are the Java Applet, Chem/Draw, and ISIS/Draw. The Java Applett is built into the interface and does not require additional software. The Chem/Draw setup program automatically installs the stand alone program as well as the plug-in.
However, download of the InfoChem Client plug-in is required to allow for searching using ISIS/Draw. Please note that the original plug-in will no longer function after November 17 2003, and must be replaced with the new plug-in!
The instructions for the new plug-in are as follows:
Please note that ISIS/Draw must be installed before the new plug-in and both must be saved into the same folder.
1. Click on the following URL: http://www.science-of-synthesis.com/software/icclient.zip
2. Download the file and save it onto the hard drive.
3. Extract, and install the setup file.
Please follow the instructions given below to download the plug-ins from the internet.
1) ISIS/Draw 2.0 and higher (MDL)
If you do not currently have ISIS/Draw (Versions 2.0 and
higher) installed, please visit the MDL website for licensing and installation
information (free to academic institutions):

Restart your computer
At present the only browsers supported are Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher.
