About Science Citation Index:

The Web of Science is the online version of the following three files:
  • Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED): 1900-present
  • Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI): 1956-present
  • Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI): 1975-present

The Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) publishes the Science Citation Index (SCI), which provides access to current bibliographic information and cited references. The online version of SCI, called Web of Science, covers over 5,600 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals in a broad range of disciplines.
