ENCYCLOPEDIAS

The American Medical Association Family Medical Guide, Rev. and updated. ed. by Jeffrey R. M. Kunz and Asher J. Finkle. New York: Random House, 1987.

RC81 A543 1987 SML Ref

Intended for use in the home, this may be too complex for some. The book is comprised of four sections: the "healthy body," symptoms and self-diagnosis, explanations of simple diseases, and health care in the home. The overall level is uneven with some descriptions and definitions being over simplistic and others being overly complicated. However, the work is to be commended for excellent charts on diagnosis in the second section. A good second choice for general collections.
