Yale Chemistry Department members may sign out a book (paper signout slips are on the service desk) to their offices or labs for use overnight, but the books should be returned within one half-hour of when the library opens in the morning.

Eli Express is a time-saving delivery service that allows library users to have books paged from any of the participating Yale libraries for delivery to a library chosen by the user. Books requested should be available for pickup at the selected delivery library within 48 hours of placing the request, Monday through Friday.

Online Request

Interlibrary Loan

If a book or journal article cannot be located in the Chemistry Library or any other Yale library, it may be requested through Interlibrary Loan. ILL requests are taken only from Yale faculty, students, and staff, and may be submitted at the Service Desk.

Interlibrary Loans are subject to restrictions and fees imposed by the lending institution.

Course Reserves

Materials which instructors have placed on Reserve for their courses are available at the Kline Science Library.

Reserve loan periods may be two hours, three days, or seven days, as specified by the instructor. Most reserve materials are on a two-hour loan period.
