Routine Functions To Be Performed As Needed

  • Arrange presentation by departing senior staff (defined by position, e.g. AUL or long term service in an administrative role, e.g. retiring Head of Cataloging)
  • Orientation for New Librarians, every fifth new person or every six months (procedures page and sample agenda)
  • SCOPA chair sends welcome letter to each new hire as they arrive

General Administrative Schedule
  • Late December: New SCOPA members and new chair appointed by the University Librarian
  • January: New SCOPA and SCOPA chair take office
  • January: Advertise Publications web page and Mentoring Program
  • April: Advertise Publications web page and Mentoring Program
  • April-May: Presentations of SCOPA Grant recipients from previous year's grant cycle
  • June - August: fewer regular meetings, but meeting once or twice during the summer is wise, to keep planning momentum up
  • June: Mid-term grant progress reports due from recipients
  • July: Advertise Publications web page and Mentoring Program
  • October: Advertise Publications web page and Mentoring Program
  • Late October: Grant Proposal Submission Deadline
  • Late December/Early January: Outgoing chair prepares annual report for submission to UL
