SCOPA Meeting Minutes

Nov. 15, 2006

Members present: Kelly Barrick (recorder), Kevin Glick, Jennifer Krivickas, Este Pope, Cynthia Roman, Eileen Smith (convener) and Camilla Tubbs

1.  Minutes approved from November 1^st meeting

2.  Sub-committee reports

            Mentoring:      

Kelly & Camilla will have draft for Mentor Sub-committee by next meeting 12/6

Grants:

5 proposals were received. Letters should be sent out this week to submitters for  notification.

3.  Forum on Dec. 8^th – access to cultural materials and their images (Cindy)

Half day forum. 10:30-12 will be open to everyone. The afternoon will be invitation only and a follow-up from the morning session. The afternoon session will be for appropriate individuals and stakeholders from YUL, Yale University and the art centers. Light refreshments will be served.

4.  January 19, 2007 Forum

SCOPA received a proposal from Jae Rossman (AOB) to co-sponsor an already arranged speaker in conjunction with their current exhibition, Pictorial Webster's: An Artist's Book by John Carrera of Quercus Press, November 13, 2006 - February 22, 2007.  AOB is primarily looking for assistance with publicizing the event. Camilla agreed to work with Jae on this forum.

5.  Eileen needs a short paragraph summary of committee activities by Dec. 20^th.

6.  Additional review of SCOPA web pages continued. It was decided that the Professional Resources pages would be taken down altogether. The New

Librarians and Mentoring web pages will have recommendations for changes made to them and passed on to SCOPA members from Kevin and Camilla respectively.

7.  Next meeting: December 6^th. If all business taken care of, December 20^th meeting will be cancelled.
