SCOPA Meeting Minutes

SCOPA Meeting: 3 April 2000

Present: Ellen Doon, Erika Heinen, Calvin Hsu, Tom Hyry (Chair), Jennifer Kostelnik, Stephanie Schmitt, Dajin Sun

Absent: Cynthia Crooker, Diane Turner

SCOPA Orientation for New Librarians:

• Agenda for orientation on 4 April 2000 was finalized.

Future Forums:

• Mike Paciello:

  Everything is set for his talk.

• LMC Budget:

  Dajin has lecture hall for 9:30-11 on 26 April.

• Summer Sessions:

  Tom suggested that maybe 6 sessions in one summer were too many. Discussion followed with the conclusion that SCOPA would have three each summer and alternate years so that everyone was covered regularly.

  The proposed plan for this summer involved the following groups:

  • Medical/Science/Social Science
  • Reader Services (adding Kim Parker to the original list)
  • Arts & Music

  The goal is to have the first one in June.

The next meeting will be 17 April 2000.
