ANNOUNCEMENTS
- SCOPA Grants subcommittee is reconstituted with two new members: Cynthia
Crooker and Ellen Doon. Erika Heinen and Jennifer Kostelnik are continuing
members. Dajin will update the subcommittee directory on the SCOPA website.
- The Simon Musgrave forum went very well. There were an estimated 25
persons in attendance.
FORUMS
- Bob Strauss
- The forum on mass deacidification with Bob Strauss and David Walls will
take place on Thursday, May 18, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the SML
Lecture Hall.
- Final arrangements and details are being coordinated by Erika Heinen and
in conjunction with Library Administrative Services. David Walls will
assist with what is needed on Thursday morning.
- Scott and Audrey re: LMS Migration
- The LMS Migration forum will be held on May 23.
- We expect this forum to be more of a discussion rather than a
presentation. SCOPA members are encouraged to think of questions to ask
prior to the forum.
- If the Lecture Hall fills to capacity, we may schedule a second event due
to the importance of this meeting.
- YUL Budget
- Dajin is in contact with Paul Conway and Max Marmor about setting a date.
- The forum is still scheduled to take place before the end of the fiscal
year, but the details are still being worked out.
- SCOPA Grants recipients
- The SCOPA Grants subcommittee will work on organizing the forum
featuring this year's grant recipients. The forum is tentatively scheduled
for June. The subcommittee is still obtaining final documentation and
reports from the grant recipients.
- Summer Series (featuring YUL participants)
- Erika will send out a draft of the letter inviting select department
heads to participate in the series.
- Diane will forward Erika's announcement to LMC members and will make an
announcement about the series at the following LMC meeting.
- Fall Series on scholarly communication
- The forums will be scheduled over a period of four weeks at the end of
October to the beginning of November.
- The subcommittee is still working out the details of the three forums,
but has determined a short list of local advisors to assist in this process.
Respectfully submitted,
Stephanie Schmitt
