SCOPA meeting minutes, Aug. 25, 2003

Present: Mary Caldera (chair), Daniel Dollar, Eric Friede, Nancy Kuhl, Cecile Mandour (recording), Shawn Steidinger

Absent: Stephen Jones, Huei-Ju (Polly) Chang

GRANTS:

Eric informed the group that a notice reminding about the grants program has been sent to HR to be forwarded to the M&P email list.

FORUMS:

Mary offered to take over for Daniel Dollar who will be out for the Oct. 23 forum on Cataloging and FRBR, featuring Matthew Beacom as speaker. However the forum will be postponed if there is a strike.

No definitive date is set for the AUL forums. Mary will contact Meg Bellinger and Nancy will get in touch with Frank Turner. Mary will send Andrew Gray forum dates for the YUL Calendar.

ORIENTATION FOR NEW LIBRARIANS:

Shawn is in the process of organizing the SCOPA Orientation Meeting for new librarians. The date has not yet been set. Shawn will go on vacation Sept. 13-Oct. 4.

SCOPA ANNUAL REPORT:

Mary stated that SCOPA had a smooth year and to start thinking about the input of the respective subcommittees to the annual report which is to be presented at the end of the year.

Next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8.
