SCOPA New Librarians Orientation

The possibility of a new name for the New Librarians Orientation was discussed, but as no better alternative was suggested, the original name was retained.

The committee discussed the following: reorganizing the meeting to allow more informal time to get to know new librarians, the imposition of a seating arrangement, the addition of SCOPA to member’s name badges, the possibility of using an “icebreaker” at the beginning of the meeting, the addition of the Learning Plan to our list of topics discussed, the possibility of changing and / or combining several elements of the program, the possible exclusion of the member of the staff association who has traditionally been invited, the possibility that all SCOPA members will not have a topic to speak about if we indeed reorganize the program. The committee will continue to discuss these issues at a future meeting.

Next Meeting

The next meeting is scheduled for August 25, 2pm, SML 410.
