SCOPA Meeting December 6, 2004, 1:30 pm, SML 410

We welcomed Shawn back from her maternity leave.

Grants Subcommittee met this morning and recommended proposals for funding. Recommendations were forwarded to Diane Turner.

Annual Report – each member will submit information concerning her/his subcommittee work to Nancy for inclusion in the SCOPA Annual Report. Please get information to Nancy by the end of this week, December 10.

Rowena passed out a draft for the 2005 SCOPA Forum Schedule

Spring Semester Forum Planning

- Rowena will contact Dr. Richard Selzer to set a date for him to speak.

- International Festival of Edible Books – SCOPA will help by providing beverages for this April 1, 2005 event. Nancy will coordinate (even though she will be off SCOPA) since part of the festival will be at Beinecke

- SCOPA Grants Forum – recipients’ presentations

- Anna-Amalia Library

Forums with unknown dates/possibilities

- Sue Allen, talk on 19^th century book designer Sarah Wyman Whitman (2005 SCOPA member will contact to set up)

- If we are going to have a forum on German children’s literature it needs to be coordinated with the Sterling Exhibition (contact Dale Askey)

- Carla will work on the continuation of the Library Education Forums series

- How to apply for a SCOPA grant – either we have a new forum or refer people to the Powerpoint on the library’s website from a presentation by Bill Wallach 10/19/01
