The German children’s literature forum will be held in the fall (possibly September). Cindy will contact Dale to see if this is an acceptable timeframe and to see what kind of support he would like from SCOPA.
Fall Snapshot series:
- LSF – no decisions made
- Abdul will be arranging the forum on the Modern Greek program presented by Tony Oddo after September.
Since Danuta Nitecki is giving presentations on the CCL Construction, we will not be doing this forum.
What is a Metadata Librarian? – Marsha mentioned that the Metadata Committee is going to present a series of forums for the Yale community. These forums will focus more on the needs of various constituencies and the services required. Since this differs from the forum we are planning, we will proceed with our forum. We would like to offer this forum at the beginning of February before the Metadata Committee forums begin as an introduction to the Metadata Committee forums. Marsha will contact Matthew Beacom, our Metadata Librarian, to ask if he is interested in doing this presentation.
Carla passed out a draft outlining how to organize a SCOPA forum. We discussed the wording, possible additions, and deletions to this outline. One of the issues was whether we want to purchase a clock for the podium so the speaker is aware of how much time he has left. We also discussed purchasing a supply of water for speakers. Carla will make changes to the outline and distribute it again for more discussion. Once it is finalized, it will be posted on our Website.
