Peter
II, son of Peter the Great.
|
The
thirteen year old Czar moved the capital back to Moscow
in 1728. The St. Petersburg
mint ceased production of coins until 1738 when Empress
Anna restored St. Petersburg as the capital. Peter II
declared
himself of age, but took no part in affairs of the State,
devoting himself exclusively to hunting.
