Economics: Economics Journals and Subject Literature

Academic Search
EBSCOhost's Academic Search database provides access to journal articles in most academic areas of study. It includes full-text coverage of nearly 1,200 journals from 1990 to the present and abstracts/indexing of nearly 3,000 journals from 1984 to the present.

Business Source Premier
EBSCOhost's Business Source Premier database is a comprehensive, business periodical database that includes scholarly journals and business periodicals covering topics such as management, economics, finance, accounting, international business and much more. Business Source Premier contains content from full text sources ranging from general business periodicals to academic journals.  This database also includes Country Monitor and Industry Yearbook Reports from WEFA, 35 country reports from the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and Wall Street Words.

Factiva
Factiva contains nearly 8,000 sources from 118 countries and 22 languages, and 120 continuously updated newswires.

Coverage includes:

  • Same-day and archival coverage of The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, Financial Times, Handelsblatt, Les Echos, South China Morning Post, Australian Financial Review, Sydney Morning Herald, Straits Times, Yomiuri Shimbun, and local newspapers from every corner of the globe.
  • Newswires include Dow Jones, Reuters, Associated Press, Asia Pulse, and over 120 other continuously updating industry, press release and local newswires.

Econlit
A comprehensive bibliography with selected abstracts and full-text book reviews of international research in economics from more than 400 major journals, working papers, books and collective volumes from 1969 to the present. Compiled by the American Economic Association from many sources, including the Journal of Economic Literature and the Index of Economic Articles.

International Bibliography of the Social Sciences
Indexes the information contained in over 2,600 social sciences journals and 6,000 books each year.

Lexis-Nexis Statistical
Searches the abstracts and index to U.S. & state governments and privately published & international and intergovernmental statistical sources. (ASI, SRI & IIS).

PAIS International
Also in print: SSL, Reference Z7163 P83. Contains records describing articles in over 1,400 periodicals and thousands of government documents, reports, books, and conference proceedings. Coverage includes materials relating to business, economic and social conditions, with an emphasis on public policy, international relations, and public administration. The database covers publications from 1980 to the present.

Periodicals Index Online
Periodicals Index Online is the new name for Periodicals Contents Index - a database of millions of articles published in the arts, humanities and social sciences, across more than 300 years. It enables researchers to quickly locate articles relevant to their particular field of study.

Social Sciences Citation Index - via Web of Science (Direct Connection - Yale only)
Also in print up to 1997. SSL, Reference Z7163 S63). "An international, interdisciplinary index to the literature of the social sciences," this covers articles from over 1,400 social sciences journals, and includes selected articles from an additional 3,330. The citation section of the index allows the researcher to locate articles on related topics by tracking citations of an author's work, based on the notion that authors cite publications relevant to their own research. It is thus an excellent way of locating articles on the same subject.

WilsonWeb
A collection of periodical indexing databases covering the Arts, Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. You can search the databases separately, or use WilsonWeb's Check Relevant Databases feature at the bottom of the initial search screen to search across multiple databases simultaneously. WilsonWeb replaces the Expanded Academic Index that was available through Orbis.
