Social Science Data Archive
The Social Science Data Archive (SSDA) is the repository and reference center at Yale for machine-readable data sources in the social sciences. SSDA codebooks and reference services are available through the Social Science Library and Information Services; the Social Science Statistical Laboratory provides technical assistance for dataset users. Search StatCat for information about datasets held at Yale.

Yale Roper Collection
The Yale Roper Collection includes a complete set of the polls acquired by the Roper Center from its founding through 1984. Since 1984, polls have been added as requested by users. The collection of questionnaires and codebooks is held at the Social Science Library. Machine-readable datafiles in the Roper Collection are stored on the Social Science Statistical Laboratory server.

Yale faculty and students can search the Roper Center Archive Catalog and may order Roper data by contacting Social Science Reference.

ICPSR, the world's largest repository of computer-readable social science data, acquires, processes, and distributes data collections on a broad range of topics.

Students, faculty, and staff on the Yale network may download data directly from ICPSR. If the codebook for the data is available in print only and is not already in the Social Sciences Library collection, it will be sent to SSL. Be sure to enter your e-mail address when downloading data so that Social Science Reference can notify you when the print codebook arrives. To locate codebooks already in the SSL collection, search Orbis, the library’s online catalog, to get the call number.
