The Statistics Library is located at 24 Hillhouse Avenue in the building occupied by the Statistics Department. The major part of the collection is housed and circulates through the Social Science Library located at 140 Prospect Street. Print serials and older monographs in the collection are shelved in the Statistics Department and indicate the location "statistics library" in ORBIS --this collection does not circulate.

Current Index to Statistics provides bibliographic access to articles in the major statistics journals to Yale faculty, students and staff.

Collection
The Statistics Library, located within the Statistics Department in the James Dwight Dana House at 24 Hillhouse Avenue, was created in 1965 through a gift from International Business Machines. Collection and technical support is now provided in part by the University Library. Selection is done jointly by the Statistics selector and the faculty of the Statistics Department.

Monographs: 4,400
Serials: 32 currently received subscriptions, 1,000 bound volumes
Proceedings: Complete holdings of the American Statistical Association with its thirteen sections, the Berkeley Symposium on Mathematical Statistics and Probability, Selected Translations in Mathematical Statistics and Probability.

Types of Materials
The emphasis is on materials needed for current graduate level research. Complete runs of the selected core journals in statistics are retained. The collection includes monographs, journals, dissertations, proceedings, preprints, reprints and a limited reference collection. The library assistant and contact is Marcia Bickoff of the Social Science Libraries and Information Services.

Reference Collection
A selection of handbooks, dictionaries, statistical tables and encyclopedias. The Current Index to Statistics is available in print at the Statistics Library and also online.

Access
The collection housed at the statistics department is non-circulating.
Monographs and serials are in Orbis.
The library is open to the members of the Yale University community.
Statistics faculty and graduate students have 24 hour access privileges.
