International Forum of Educational
Technology & Society
The International Forum of Educational Technology and Society (IFETS) encourages
discussions on the issues affecting the educational system developer (including
AI) and education communities. The Forum is intended to benefit all developers
of technology based educational systems (including AI researchers) by focusing
on the practical purpose of their developments. The Forum will also benefit
educators who plan to enhance the teaching and learning processes and improve
access to education.
INTEC (International Teacher
Enhancement Coalition)
The web site of INTEC, whose goal is to support teachers directly in implementing
the use of student investigations in mathematics and science at the middle
and high school levels by offering a set of network-based high quality netcourses
linking participants with exemplary National Science Foundation (NSF) curriculum
development efforts.
International Society for Technology in
Education
The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) promotes appropriate
uses of technology to support and improve teaching and learning. Representing
more than 40,000 educators, ISTE provides curriculum for learning about
technology and integrating it into the classroom, research results and project
reports, and leadership for policy affecting educational technology.
Internet Education Foundation
The Internet Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
dedicated to educating the public and policymakers about the potential of
a decentralized global Internet to promote democracy, communications, and
commerce.
National Art Education Association
Founded in 1947, the National Art Education Association (NAEA) represents
more than 17,000 art educators from every level of instruction: early childhood,
elementary, intermediate, secondary, college and university, administration,
museum education and lifelong learning. The Association's goal is to promote
art education through professional development, service, advancement of
knowledge, and leadership.
National Association for Bilingual Education
The National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) is a tax-exempt
non-profit national membership organization founded in 1975 to address the
educational needs of language-minority students in the U.S. and to advance
the language competencies and multicultural understanding of all Americans.
NABE is both a professional and advocacy association. Its members include
educators, parents, community members and leaders of community, governmental,
and business organizations. The educational professionals who are NABE members
work in all disciplines, in all specialties, and at all levels from preschool
through postgraduate education.
National Association for
Developmental Education
The National Association for Developmental Education (NADE) seeks to improve
the theory and practice of developmental education in postsecondary education,
the professional capabilities of developmental educators, and the design
of programs to prepare developmental educators. The organization is a nonprofit,
nonpartisan education association composed of nearly 3,000 from across the
U.S. and a growing number of international members.
National Association for the Education
of Young Children
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the
nation's largest organization of early childhood professionals and others
dedicated to improving the quality of early childhood education programs
for children birth through age eight.
National Association of Elementary School
Principals
The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) was founded
in 1921 by a group of principals who sought to promote their profession and
to provide a national forum for their ideas. NAESP serves the professional
interest of elementary and middle school principals, and is committed to
promote the highest professional standards.
National Association of Secondary School
Principals
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) has a historical
and continuing commitment and support for principals, assistant principals,
and other school leaders. Recognizing that technological, social, and political
changes in the world are affecting how we educate youth, NASSP provides the
professional resources for these leaders to be visionary change agents,
collaborators within the school community, and risk takers.
National Center for Research on Teacher
Learning
The National Center for Research on Teacher Learning (NCRTL) was founded
at Michigan State University's College of Education in 1985 with a grant
from the Office of Education Research and Improvement, U.S. Department of
Education. The Center was renamed in 1991 to reflect its new emphasis on
teacher learning and the Center's desire to provide leadership in defining
this new area of research. Recently, the Center examined various approaches
to teacher education, including preservice, inservice, alternative route,
and induction programs-to further knowledge and understanding of the purpose
of teacher education, the character and quality of teacher education, and
the role of teacher education in teacher learning.
National Council for the Social Studies
Founded in 1921, National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) has grown
to be the largest association in the country devoted solely to social studies
education. NCSS engages and supports educators in strengthening and advocating
social studies. With members in all 50 states, the District of Columbia,
and 69 foreign countries, NCSS serves as an umbrella organization for elementary,
secondary, and college teachers of history, geography, economics, political
science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and law-related education.
Organized into a network of more than 110 affiliated state, local, and regional
councils and associated groups, the NCSS membership represents K-12 classroom
teachers, college and university faculty members, curriculum designers and
specialists, social studies supervisors, and leaders in the various disciplines
that constitute the social studies.
National Council of Teachers of English
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the world's largest
subject-matter educational association, is devoted to improving the teaching
of English and the language arts at all levels of education. Since 1911,
NCTE has provided a forum for the profession, an array of opportunities for
teachers to continue their professional growth throughout their careers,
and a framework for cooperation to deal with issues that affect the teaching
of English.
National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is the largest nonprofit
professional association of mathematics educators in the world. NCTM offers
vision, leadership, and avenues of communication for mathematics educators
at the elementary school, middle school, high school, and college and university
levels.
National Education Association
The National Education Association (NEA) is America's oldest and largest
organization committed to advancing the cause of public education. Founded
in 1857 in Philadelphia and now headquartered in Washington, D.C., NEA claims
over 2.3 million members who work at every level of education, from pre-school
to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliates in every state as well
as in over 13,000 local communities across the United States.
National Home Education Network
The National Home Education Network exists to encourage and facilitate the vital grassroots
work of state and local homeschooling organizations and individuals by providing
information, fostering networking and promoting public relations on a national level.
Because we believe there is strength in a diverse network of homeschoolers, we support the
freedom of all individual families to choose home education and to direct such education.
National Institute for Urban School
Improvement
The mission of the National Institute for Urban School Improvement is to
support inclusive urban communities, schools, and families to build their
capacity for sustainable, successful urban education. The Institute will
accomplish this mission through dialogue, networking, technology, action
research, information systems, alliance and consensus building.
National Middle School Association
Established in 1973, National Middle School Association (NMSA) serves as
a voice for professionals, parents, and others interested in the educational
and developmental needs of young adolescents (youth 10-15 years of age).
NMSA is the only national educational association exclusively devoted to
improving the educational experiences of young adolescents.
National PTA
The National PTA is the oldest and largest volunteer association in the United
States working exclusively on behalf of children and youth. The mission of
the National PTA is to support and speak on behalf of children and youth
in the schools, in the community and before governmental bodies and other
organizations that make decisions affecting children; to assist parents in
developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; to encourage
parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
National School Boards Association
The National School Boards Association (NSBA) is the nationwide advocacy
and outreach organization for public school governance. The NSBA's mission
is to foster equity and excellence in public elementary and secondary education
in the United States through school board leadership. The NSBA achieves this
mission through a united effort with state school boards associations who
are their Federation Members.
National Science Teachers Association
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), founded in 1944 and
headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is the largest organization in the
world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching
and learning for all. NSTA's current membership of more than 53,000 includes
science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business
and industry representatives, and others involved in science education.
National Staff Development Council
The National Staff Development Council (NSDC), founded in 1969, is the largest
non-profit professional association committed to ensuring success for all
students through staff development and school improvement. The Council's
fundamental purpose is to address the issues confronted by all participants
in the reform process. The Council views high quality staff development programs
as essential to creating schools in which all students and staff members
are learners who continually improve their performance.

Organizations Concerned about Rural Education (OCRE) is a coalition of more
than two dozen education, farm, rural, technology and utility organizations
concerned for the economic future of rural America, particularly the education
of rural children.

Teachers of Psychology
in Secondary Schools
Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools (TOPSS) is an organization created,
sponsored, and supported by the American Psychological Association. The primary
objectives of TOPSS include promoting the scientific nature of the introductory
and advanced high school psychology courses; meeting the curricular needs
of high school psychology teachers; providing opportunities for the over
800,000 high school students annually enrolled in the high school psychology
course to be recognized and rewarded for their academic excellence.
United States Distance Learning Association
The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) is a non-profit
association whose purpose is to promote the development and application of
distance learning for education and training. The Association's constituents
include K-12 education, higher education, continuing education, corporate
training, and military and government training.
