Words about Strategic Planning
Strategic planning is an ongoing process that helps institutions respond to a changing environment. The strategic planning process is intended to help the Library set goals and priorities for the future, and to develop approaches to reach those goals.
Strategic planning answers three basic questions:
Where are we going?
What is the environment?
How do we get there?
Strategic planning does more than plan for the future – strategic planning helps the organization create its future.
Desired Outcomes of Strategic Planning for YUL
- Shared vision and alignment through the whole organization.
- Creation and agreement on the strategic plan.
- Practical steps to move YUL forward over the next 12 – 18 months.
- Longer-range plan drafted for the next five years.
Critical Success Factors
