| The Library listserv, or YULIB,
opens the door to communication with the entire Library community. Please
be sure that your message is of general interest or importance to all Library
staff when publishing messages through this channel. Direct messages of a more
personal nature to individuals, not to the Library community. Tip:
if you are communicating to a small segment of the YULIB audience, you can:

 | · |
Use a bracket [xxx] in the subject line to indicate to which segment your message
refers. For example, in the subject line: [SML and Law] Power outage today
 |
| | · |
Or, set up a mailing list containing the email addresses of those with whom
you will be communicating.
 |
| | | · |
If you wish to respond to a general Yulib message, respond to the individual
sending the message. Caution: if you hit the reply button, your message
will be sent to the Yulib listserv. | |
| · |
Never publicly air grievances by posting messages to the Yulib listserv. This
practice is unacceptable, upsetting to the rest of your colleagues and impacts
work productivity. | |
| · |
If you do have strong feelings about a Yulib message and wish to respond, consider
how best to communicate your feelings before you act. Avoid flaming messages;
pick up the phone or take a walk. | | | · |
