Using the Equipment in the SCML

There are 12 student workstations and 1 instructor workstation. The login for the instructor workstation is SCMLINSTRUCTOR. Please call the WSG Help Desk (2-1849) office for the password. The instructor workstation is connected to an InFocus high resolution (1024x768) projector. Click the link for instructions on connecting the InFocus LP750 Projector (in PDF format). Each student workstation is configured identically. All have the same login, access privileges and icons. For all logins, the user has full read write access to the C:\TEMP directory. Files should be saved in this directory. The C:\TEMP directory also serves as the work area for any programs being run.

There are three logins:

1. SCMLSTUDENT - No password. Logs into the Library domain. (Default login)

Use the SCMLSTUDENT account for: General student classes General staff training Web Publishing "Click Here" classes

2. SCMLPOWERUSER - Has a password. Logs into the local machine.

Use the SCMLPOWERUSER account for: Expert User Training Windows NT Training Microsoft Office Training

The software available for  SCMLPOWERUSER

3. MAVIS - Has a password. Logs into the local machine.

Use the MAVIS account only for: Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

Mavis Beacon is the only program on this account.
