Reading/Exam Period
We regret that the Law Library must again put into effect some restrictions
on access by non-law students during exam and reading periods. We take this
step, with the greatest reluctance, because crowding has become such a
problem that law students have difficulty finding a place to study in the Law
Library. This crowding problem is exacerbated by our library renovation
project.
Effective Friday, April 25 and continuing through Monday, May 12,
admission to the Law Library will be limited to Law School students and
faculty and Law Library pass holders after 7 p.m. Sunday - Friday and all
day Saturday. Passes will be available for any non-law student who is
using the Law Library collection for research purposes and needs access
after 7 p.m. or on Saturday, as well as for any Yale University faculty
member. Passes may be obtained from the librarian on duty in the Law
Library Reading Room.
Non-law students who are already in the Law Library before 7 p.m. Sunday
- Friday may remain in the library, with one qualification. At any time
after 7 p.m., the librarian on duty may determine that the Reading Room
is excessively crowded and ask non-law students to leave.
