This Renovated Library

Please let me remind you of the open house and reception on Friday, 9
October, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  We will be celebrating among
ourselves the magnificent renovation of much of Sterling Memorial Library
and the construction of the Gilmore Music Library.  All University Library
staff and their family members are most cordially invited to walk around
the building and to talk with their colleagues in the renovated
departments.  Refreshments will be available in the Selin Courtyard (or, in
the case of unfavorable weather, in the SML Lecture Hall).

In my original letter detailing many of the recent renovations, I entirely
overlooked the Conservation Studio (off the 1MB level of the book stacks).
Preservation Department staff are moving back into the Studio just this
week, and are enjoying their new HVAC system, improved lighting, and the
fresh paint that brightens all of their work space.  The fascinating
binding equipment and highly skilled craftsmanship that is always on show
in the Conservation Studio make it, as always, well worth a visit.
