TLC-ITS talk
Hello,
The Yale University Library's Web Advisory Group's Training, Learning, and
Communications subgroup would like to invite you to a talk by Peter Snow
and Gloria Hardman from ITS on the Classes server which was implemented
this past fall. The talk will take place in the Sterling Memorial Library
Lecture Hall
on Wednesday July 21 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Classes is a web server for the online component of courses at Yale - web
pages,
syllabi, downloads, uploads, chat, discussion groups etc. The server gives
faculty
the opportunity to set up web sites for their courses, even if they have
little or no
experience with html or web editors. The server offers a unique chance for
librarians
to make connections with faculty who wish to collaborate with the library
in creating web
sites. For more information about the classes server and a list of the
courses
that used the server this year visit, http://classes.yale.edu/
Both Peter Snow and Gloria Hardman work in the Instructional Technology and
Academic Computing Department at ITS. Their talk "Classes.yale.edu - a
web-based
teaching tool" will consist of a brief presentation of the server and a
discussion about
how faculty and students have utilized it this past academic year.
