urgent appeal

The blood drive is tomorrow and Wednesday, and your blood has never been so urgently needed. You may have read a story in today's New Haven Register about the critical need for blood. We all know that sometimes the Register puts its stories in big headlines just to sell papers, but this story is no exaggeration. The Connecticut region has a one-day supply in its inventory, when a three-day supply is considered a safe minimum. The demand is especially great for A-positive, A-negative, O-plosive, and O-negative.

Though nearly seventy percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, only five percent give. When asked why they aren't donors, people often reply that they weren't asked. Well, we're asking you. We need you. Please call Evelyn Wrinn (2-1812) or me (2-1069) for an appointment.

Thank you,
Diane
