Beinecke events



Having barely recovered from the Day the Library Was Mobbed, the Beinecke 
cordially invites staff members to attend two events this week:

Tuesday, October 24 at 4:30:

Yehuda Amichai: A Celebration, with tributes and readings by Tamar 
Alexander, Sharon Anisfeld, Leslie Brisman, Ayala Dvoretzky, Barbara 
Harshav, Benjamin Harshav, Geoffrey Hartman John Hollander, Richard Levin, 
and Maria Rosa Menocal. This program honors the memory of the Israeli poet 
who died on 22 September 2000 and marks the acquisition of his archive by 
the Beinecke Library.

Wednesday, October 25 at 4:30:

Maria Perry, author of "The Word of a Prince:A Life of Elizabeth I" and 
"The Sisters of Henry VIII," will speak on "Books and Artefacts." This 
lecture is jointly sponsored by the Elizabethan Club and the Beinecke Library.


Both programs will take place on the Beinecke mezzanine with reception 
following.
