Improvements to News on Library Web site

Colleagues--

I am happy to announce that the "News, Events and Exhibits" section
(including the news archive) of the Front Door (YUL Web site) is now being
generated from a Web-accessible database.  See:
http://resources.library.yale.edu/online/news.asp   While this change makes
no significant difference to the public display of the news, it will make
maintaining the news much easier and will standardize our presentation.  If
you have linked to the News page, please update your links and bookmarks.

I actively cull news from yulib-l, but not all YUL news is announced there
and much of that news is not intended for our public.  If you have an item
that is publicly newsworthy, please email me with specifics, including
start and end dates for exhibits, and locations for events.  In particular,
if you are responsible for an exhibit, including those already listed,
please provide a sentence or two to highlight the display.  The titles
don't always capture the rich content.

I would like to thank Karen Reardon and Julie Linden for their work on this
