Artists' Books Symposium at Connecticut College
If you are interested in artists' books and have free time this Friday
afternoon, there is a great event at Connecticut College. I've included
the message sent to me below. Arts of the Book has work by all of the
presenting artists. You may even remember some of their work as
exhibitions of Robin Price and Scott McCarney have both been held at AOB in
the last two years. Also, Dikko Faust and Esther Smith are better know as
Purgatory Pie Press, and they presented a slide show in the SML lecture
hall last fall.

A gathering of internationally known book artists will take place at
Connecticut College on the afternoon of Friday, March 29,
in the Charles Chu Asian Arts Reading Room,
the elegant new gallery, study and presentation space
on the main floor of Charles E. Shain Library.
The artists who will be presenting are Jim Lee, Robin Price,
Marlene MacCullum, Scott McCarney, Maureen Cummins,
Dikko Faust and Esther K. Smith. Each artist will give
a presentation about an aspect of his or her work.
Suzy Taraba, Special Collections Librarian at Wesleyan University,
will speak about using artists' books in the curriculum.
Accompanying the symposium will be an exhibition of artists' books
in the Connecticut College Library collection,
which will run from March 25 through May 17 in the library.
The symposium has been organized by Laurie M. Deredita, Special Collections
Librarian.
it is free and open to the public. Call 860-439-2654 or email
