Updated Library "Hours"

The new academic year's schedule of the Library's "hours"of service takes 
effect with the start of the new semester, Wednesday, September 3.  Until 
then, the hours posted from the Front Door through its two "Hours" links 
will continue to show the current academic year's schedules through this 
summer.   The schedules for SML and CCL, as the most heavily consulted 
pages, have been updated to show this summer recess as well as next 
academic year's calendar.

 For the next week, we have added a link under the "News" section at the 
bottom of the page [http://www.library.yale.edu/] where one can preview 
the"Library hours of service after September 3, 2003."  On that date [next 
Wednesday] this will be removed as a news item and the new schedules will 
display from the two "Hours" links.

Many thanks to those staff responsible for proofing their library's 
schedule in working with me these past few weeks to update the 
Hours.  Please take a look at the information for your library linked from 
the News section and let me know if you find any errors.

In the coming months, we are looking to simplify the way this complex set 
of information about the Library's schedule of openings is posted.   Sorry 
for any confusion this year during this transition period.
