Prizes for senior essay writers
Manuscripts and Archives will award two prizes at commencement:
1: To a senior in any department for an outstanding essay based on
research done in Manuscripts and Archives
2: To a senior in any department for an outstanding use of primary
sources for an essay on Yale
We have asked the seven students who have entered their essays to speak
about their research at two forums in the Sterling Memorial Library
lecture hall. Each forum will begin at 3:30 PM and will be followed
by light refreshments. Please join us on

Wallis Finger, "From the 'Bland Leading the Bland' to the
Mississippi Freedom Vote"
and on May 6 for:
Carla Federman, "Yale's Conscience: William Sloane Coffin Jr. and
the Freedom Ride of 1961"
Justin Albstein, "The Holocaust in American
Culture"
Katherine Capelluto, "Deconstructing the Eyewitness: The
Moral Witness in the Fortunoff Video Archives For Holocaust Testimonies
At Yale"
