Lost cell phone ... RECOVERED
Well, that was amazing. About 5 minutes after I sent the message out on
yulib, Cha Chi from Circulation came walking into my work area holding
what looked my cell phone (and it was). Apparently, it had been at
Circulation all along, but the persons I'd spoken with at the desk just
didn't know exactly where. And the regular procedure for turning items in
to Security was not followed in this case, simple as a courtesy to me,
because they were expecting me to come get it!
In any event, thanks so much, Cha Chi. And thanks to the several others
of you who responded to my email, and made various suggestions.
Daniel
Dear friends and
colleagues,
After losing my Verizon cell phone this week, an anonymous person found
it, and said she would drop it off for me at the "information
desk" of SML. Now, three days later, I've checked with everyone I
can think of at SML, at the reference desk, circulation desk, and all the
guards, etc., and there's no trace of my phone. Before I give up and buy
a new phone, I thought I'd check with all of you on the list, to see if
perhaps the kind person accidentally dropped the phone off at the wrong
Yale library. I've checked with the Law School Library already, so I know
it's not there.
Thank you for your help, and I hope you have an enjoyable
holiday.

p.s.: By way of identification: the phone is quite new, but fairly
bottom-of-the-line. It has that blue glow backlighting, but doesn't flip
open like those nice Motorola units. Oh ... and it has a green felt dot
glued to the back.
