Results from Tsunami fundraiser

The Yale University Library staff has raised $2050
in donations for relief from the earthquake-tsunami that ravaged
countries along the Indian Ocean. The International Rescue Committee and
AmeriCares will use these funds to provide medical supplies to 10,000
people for an entire month. To gain a sense of the magnitude of this
donation, imagine all but 1000 of Yale's staff and faculty (total of
about 11.000) out sick for a month. 

On behalf of the Library Staff Association, I would like to thank every
member of the Yale University Library for their efforts in helping to
improve our world. In the coming months, the Library Staff Association
and Library Administration will investigate other ways in which the
Library can provide further relief.
