New Assistant Catalog Management Librarian
Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome Eva Bolkovac who joined the staff of
the Catalog Department on April 25 as the new Assistant Catalog Management
Librarian. Eva will work on the completion of the Serials Recon project and
participate in the problem resolution process for the Collection Space
Management Project, among her other duties. Prior to coming to Yale, Eva
worked for years in different positions at the University of Connecticut
Library, including Metadata Librarian, Cataloging and Database Management
Team Leader, and Cataloging Team Leader. Her other Connecticut related
experience includes about three years of work as Head of Access Services at
the Connecticut Historical Society. She brings to Yale a strong set of
experience and skills for cataloging and metadata services.
Eva has a Master of Library and Information Science degree from the
University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts degree in
English cum laude from the Holy Names College in Oakland, California. She
is gifted with languages. In addition to her native command of Hungarian
and equally fluency in English, she speaks Russian and reads German. Owing
to her immense interest in languages, she picks up words of different
languages easily and can say common greetings in Japanese or Chinese when
time is appropriate. Outside of work, she loves traveling, music, and
attending concerts.
Please join me in welcoming Eva to the Yale community. Her work area is on
the mezzanine level of the Sterling Memorial Library. She can be reached by
phone at 2-7659 or by email at the address: eva.bolkovac@yale.edu.
