Appointment in the East Asia Library
I am delighted to announce the appointment of Chi-wah Chan to the post of
Librarian for the Chinese Collection in the East Asia Library.
Chi-wah has an M.Phil. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Ph.D.
from UCLA’s Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, where he
specialized in Buddhism of the Song dynasty, and an M.L.S. from
Rutgers. He pursued a teaching career for three years at the
University of Florida and fours years at Rutgers, during which time his
publications were primarily related to T’ien-t’ai Buddhism. Upon
receiving his library degree in 2000, he became the Cataloger for the
Chinese Rare Books Project based at Princeton University. His
primary responsibilities will be collection development and support for
Chinese studies faculty and students.
