Installing and Upgrading CLARR


To UPGRADE an existing version of CLARR:

If you already have CLARR installed you can do this:

  1. Close Clarr.
  2. Connect to \\banshee\workstn.
  3. Copy CLARR32\Clarr.exe to C:\Program Files\Clarr.
  4. Run the program to test. The current version is 5.1.20.
  5. That's it! you're done!!

***For a first time installation of CLARR follow these instructions:

Prerequisites: You need to have Host Explorer 6.02 with patch 17 or Host Explorer 6.2 on your workstation.

  1. Connect to \\banshee\workstn

  2. Run the setup.exe in the Clarr32 folder.

  3. Click OK.

4. Click the picture of the computer.

5. Click Continue.

6. If you encounter any messages like this select Yes. You need to keep the newer version of the file. You may be asked this several times for different files.

7. Click OK.

8. When the installation is done do not restart the computer. First copy the clarr.exe file from \\banshee\workstn\clarr32 and replace the existing clarr.exe.

9. Now restart the computer.

10. Copy the following 3 files from the directory c:\Program Files\Hostexplorer.nt (Or another directory where Host Explorer is loaded) to c:\Program Files\clarr.
ACS3EHAP.DLL
EHLAPI32.DLL
WHLLAP32.DLL

11. This is what your Clarr folder should look like when you're done:


12. Copy the clarr.ini file from the Clarr32\Clarrini directory on Banshee to your system root (ex C:\winnt). If you installing this in an area that will use foreign languages rename the clarrhebr.ini file to Clarr.ini.

13. Create an Icon for Clarr and name it CLARR32 to distinguish it from the earlier 16-bit version you may have installed.

14. To run Clarr open an OrbEdit session in Host Explorer then open Clarr.

15. To test Clarr open a record in Host Explorer. Click the icon of an arrow pointing to an N in Clarr.
It should work without getting an error message.

16. Customize your CLARR settings.
