5. Click the Permissions button to open the Permissions window.

6. Click the Add button to open the Select Users, Computers or Groups windows.

7. In the lower section of the window type the NetID of the person / people you wish to grant access to proceeded by Yale\ (i.e. Yale\go27)

8. When all of the users are added give the users ample permission by checking the permissions. (full control, change, read only)

9. Click OK to close the Permissions window.

10. Click OK to close the Properties window. After the window closes a little hand will appear under the folder showing it is shared.

MAPPING NETWORK DRIVES AND FOLDERS

To connect to a shared folder or drive on another computer:

1. Right click either My Computer or My Network Places and select Map Network Drive...

2. In the Folder box enter the host computer name (name of the computer the share is on) and share name in the following format \\hostname\sharename

3. If you want to connect to this folder every time you log on put a check in the box labeled Reconnect at logon. If you want to only connect for this session un-check this box.

5. If you are required to enter a user name or password other than your own (i.e. logging in as expertuser) click Connect using a different user name. Enter the user name to connect as and the password. Click OK.
