HostExplorer- Keyboard Mapper- Instructions
Introduction
HostExplorer allows you to change keyboard assignments, or remap the keyboard layout. You can change what a key represents or assign a Key combination. This is called a keyboard shortcut. Key combinations include a normal keyboard key and either shift, control, or control+shift. To view a list of keyboard settings, see the "Viewing current key assignments" instructions below.
To
change the keyboard layout or assign a command or macro to a key or key combination,
single-click the tool to the right of the smiley face or select Keyboard Mapper from the
Options menu. The following dialog box will appear:

Resetting a Key assignment to its default or to "Not Assigned"
If you
want to reset a single key, single-click that key on the keyboard that displays in the
Keyboard Mapper. Then, single-click Default to reset all the key
key combinations for that key to the HostExplorer defaults (not the Library
defaults; the HostExplorer and Library defaults are sometime different).
If you want to reset a single key combination to "not assigned," than single-click Clear Entry.
DO NOT click Reset All because this will reset the entire keyboard to the HostExplorer defaults. You will lose any changes you have made plus the diacritics on the number pad and other customized changes made at YUL. If you do click on Reset All, you will see a dialog box asking you to confirm you decision. Click No (unless you are positive you want to do this).
Viewing and Printing current key assignments
This
feature is helpful if you have forgotten to which key you have assigned a quick key, or
ALA character:

Current Keyboard Template dialog box.

Print dialog box. Prints a list of all current key assignments to printer. The print dialog box will appear.
2. Scroll through the list of key assignments or single-click Print to print the list.
Tip Alphabetical character show that they are assigned as the normal and shift values, do not assign quick keys to these keys or any other keys you will need for their usual function. For example do not assign quick keys to the function keys that you need for Orbis. |
